Is It? (isitexploited.org) is a product of LunarCrush, Inc. ("we", "us"), which is responsible for the information described here. Is It? has no accounts, no ads and no advertising trackers. We don't sell personal information.
What you type
- Apps, devices and bug names are matched in your browser. They are not sent to us, except as a count (see below).
- Messages, questions and links you check are sent to our servers for that one check. Messages and questions are passed to an AI model running on Cloudflare Workers AI. Links are opened from our servers so you don't have to visit them. We don't store or log the text. Your browser removes numbers that look like card numbers, codes or ID numbers first, and our servers do it again. That is best effort, so please don't paste anything you wouldn't read aloud.
- Email addresses and phone numbers get advice on the page. They are not looked up or sent anywhere.
- My stuff is saved in your browser's local storage and never sent to us.
What we count
To learn which scams are spreading, we record counts: the kind of thing checked (message, link, app, question), the result, the scam type our checker recognized, your country, your browser language, and the website that linked you here. These counts never include the words you typed.
Things you choose to share
- "Share this message": if you tick it, we keep that one message after removing names, numbers, email addresses and link paths, and may use it as an example in the Scam library.
- Support messages: if you write to us, we keep your message and the email address you give so we can reply.
Who processes data for us
Cloudflare hosts the site and runs the AI model. Like any website host, Cloudflare processes technical data such as IP addresses to deliver and protect the service. Social data on the site comes from LunarCrush; nothing you type goes there.
Cookies
We don't use cookies. Your theme choice and My stuff list are saved in your browser's local storage and stay on your device.
Children
Is It? is for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us what we hold about you, or ask us to delete a support message or shared example, by writing through the support page. Depending on where you live (for example California or the EU), you may have additional rights, and we will honor them.
Changes
We will update the date above when this policy changes, and note material changes on this page.
