Do I need a password manager?
Reviewed answer
Yes, and the one built into your phone or browser is a fine choice for most people.
- Use what you already have: the Passwords app on iPhone and Mac, Google Password Manager on Android and Chrome, or the one in Microsoft Edge.
- Let it create a new random password whenever you sign up or change a password.
- Change reused passwords first on email and banking. The manager may already show which ones are reused or exposed in a leak.
- Protect the account that holds your passwords (your Apple, Google, or Microsoft account) with two-step sign-in and a strong screen lock.

If you get an alert that someone signed in to your Apple, Google, or Microsoft account and it wasn't you, change that password right away from a device you trust.
