My Facebook or Instagram got hacked. What do I do?

1. Go to facebook.com/hacked or instagram.com/hacked and follow the steps. Check your email for a message from Meta about a changed email address. It often has a link to undo it.
2. Once back in, change the password, turn on two-step sign-in, and remove devices and apps you don't recognize.
3. Tell friends on another channel not to send money or codes to your account.
4. Ignore people in comments or messages who offer to recover your account. They are scammers.
