An app pays me for tasks but wants a deposit to keep earning. Is it a scam?
Reviewed answer
Deposits to unlock task commissions are a common scam, even after small payouts.
- Stop adding money or completing tasks that require a deposit.
- Save the app address, chats, wallet addresses, and transaction records. Contact the payment provider about any money already sent.
- In the US, report at ReportFraud.ftc.gov and IC3.gov. Ignore offers to recover the app's displayed balance for a fee.
